Privacy Policy
Your data stays yours.
Last updated: July 20, 2026
The short version: SponsorScan has no accounts and collects no personal information. Everything you type or toggle is stored in your own browser. We don't track you, run ads, or sell data. The extension only works on LinkedIn and Indeed, and fetches public sponsorship data from our server based on the company you're viewing.
Who this covers
This policy applies to the SponsorScan Chrome extension ("the extension," "we," "us") and this website. By installing or using the extension, you agree to the practices described here.
What the extension accesses
SponsorScan runs only on linkedin.com and indeed.com. To do its job, it reads the content of the job and company pages you open on those two sites — such as the company name and the job description text — directly in your browser. This reading happens locally, on your device, to display the sponsorship strip and to highlight skills and red flags in the description.
What is sent off your device
To show a company's H‑1B and E‑Verify information, the extension requests the matching data file from our hosting provider (a content delivery network). This means:
- The company you're viewing or searching is included in that request (as the name of the data file being fetched). Our hosting/CDN provider may record standard access logs — your IP address, the file requested, and a timestamp — as part of normal internet operation.
- We do not attach any account, name, email, or personal identifier to these requests, because the extension has none.
- The skill and red‑flag highlighting is done entirely on your device. The job description text is never sent to us or anyone else.
We use these requests only to return the requested sponsorship data. We do not build user profiles, and we do not combine access logs with any other information to identify you.
What is stored, and where
- Your settings (which highlights are on, and any skills you add) are saved using Chrome's storage.sync. That data lives in your browser and, if you use Chrome Sync, is synced through your Google account across your own devices. We never receive or store it.
- The extension keeps no other records. There is no SponsorScan account and no user database.
What we don't do
- No sign‑up, login, or personal information required.
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking pixels, no third‑party trackers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of any data.
- No access to pages outside LinkedIn and Indeed, and no reading of your general browsing history.

The sponsorship data itself
The H‑1B, wage, and E‑Verify information shown by the extension comes from public U.S. government sources — the USCIS H‑1B Employer Data Hub, the Department of Labor's OFLC LCA disclosure data, and the E‑Verify employer list. SponsorScan is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by USCIS, the Department of Labor, E‑Verify, LinkedIn, or Indeed. The data reflects historical filings, may be incomplete, and should not be treated as legal or immigration advice.
Children
SponsorScan is intended for job seekers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the extension handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes may also be noted in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
